These are links that can help in formatting citations in MLA, APA and other styles.

 

citationmachine.net - helps you create citations from difference sources including print and web materials in APA, MLA and other formats.

 

ottobib.com - for any published material with an ISBN number. Just enter the number and specify the type of citation you require (APA,MLA,etc).

 

easybib.com/ - helps you create citations from different sources. Free version only gives you MLA.

 

noodletools.com - create citations using MLA, APA, and Chicago formats. Also includes a notecard feature that helps students capture and organize notes.

 

Wikipedia - in the sidebar on the left, look for Tools > Cite this Page and click on the link.

Suggestions for Formatting References

  • for an uncluttered appearance on a page, either give page url in small text or provide a link below the image to another page.
  • use the alternative text (ALT TAG) option for images to include the url; the information will be displayed when you mouse over the image. [3]
  • at an early age, students can refer to a source by writing "thank you to Dr. Seuss" and as they get older they can learn proper citation method [4]
  • create a separate page of the wiki for end-note style presentation of the source citations. If desired, in-text citations within the wiki itself could even be linked to that end-note page. You can see an example of this end-note style of citations in this wiki. The bibliography link is at the bottom of the Contents sidebar.[5]
